Yeonggwang Gulbi
Yeonggwang dried yellow corvina is the most excellent choice in Beobseongpo served on the table of kings from the past. Croaker, at its spawning period, goes up to Yeonpyeong Island, and it is the plumpest and contains greatest amount of egg when it passes the coastal waters of Chilsan sea. It is caught, seasoned with Yeonggwang bay salt, dried with sea breeze, creating the best taste of its kind.

When making stuffed rice cake in Chuseok, Yeonggwang people have made the dough with ramie leafs, inserted mung bean fillings in a size twice or three times bigger than general ones and ate them altogether. Ramie leaf stuffed rice cake has pretty colors and delicate scents, famous as a special item of Yeonggwang.
Sundried sea salt
Yeonggwang-gun produces salt at Yeomsan-myeon and Baeksu-eup salt pond. Salt produced here has rich mineral and takes pride in the best quality of world-class. Especially, it is producing eco-friendly bay salt by improving salt pond floor material into ceramic plate, and has won a prize at Salt Pond Contest in the Republic of Korea.
Daemahalmeoni Makgeolli
It is a makgeolli made from barley and ipguk produced in Yeonggwang, and as its brewery is located in Daema-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun, so it is called as ‘Daema Grandma Makgeolli.’ It is a makgeolli made from traditional secrets by which oriental herb medicine was produced at Daema Grandma’s parents’ home for 100 years, excellent with its unique sweet and piquant taste.
Rice grown on reclaimed land
Rice from the reclaimed land is produced at the natural clean area of Chilsan reclaimed land, West Coast. Many byproducts of shells exist in Chilsan reclaimed land made by blocking the mud flat, so it supplies rice with much mineral. With long sunshine and fresh breeze from the sea, blights seldom occur, so it is an optimal environment to grow with eco-friendly farming. It prioritizes consumers’ health, and is honest and drastically controls production, processing and distribution, etc.
Yeonggwang strawberry
Yeonggwang strawberry, grown with eco-friendly organic farming, is rich in Vitamin C, good for beauty and prevention of adult disease. It accepts much sunshine, so its color is red, and the chew is strong. The scent is rich and has sweet flavor and is not sour, so is beloved by many people.
Taeyangchogochu
Hot pepper from Yeong-gwang that shapes Top-3 hot pepper market is grown with eco-friendly farming, so its color is red, flesh is thick, glowing and tasty. Glutinous barley
Yeonggwang is the largest and chief producing district of barley in Jeonnam, and Yeonggwang barley has been one of the donations to the palace. Yeonggwang Glutinous Barley Corn is a grown barley improved by Rural Development Administration in 1994, and has improved discomfort of macerating in the water or boiling once more. In addition, Yeonggwang barley contains much beta-glucan, iron and inorganic ingredients, etc., and the grain is thick and glutinous, so it is highly popular among consumers who look for delicious rice.
Seoldojeotgal (salted seafood)
Yeonggwang-gun produces 3,000 tons or more salted fish every year. Yeonggwang Seoldo Salted Fish is rich of fresh marine products caught in adjacent seas and mineral, processed with Yeonggwang high-quality bay salt, recognized throughout the world with its nutty taste, renowned across the nation. Especially, salt-pickled shrimps caught in June when shrimps are plumpest are popular, and there are many kinds as well.
